Key Buying Considerations
Â
-
Location & Shipping Costs: Biomax panels can add ~$300 shipping to Australia, while others ship free.
-
Intended Use:
-
Skin, fine lines, general wellness → don’t need max power; Rouge Pro G4 is sufficient.
-
Deep tissue / internal issues → power matters more; Biomax Pro Ultra or Biomax 900 or BlockBlueLight Mega 5.0.Â
-
-
Future Plans: If you plan to link multiple panels, Biomax Pro panels are designed for clipping systems with their 'no gap' spacing. (Though all other panels do allow extra panels to be connected). Â
Â
LED Technology Differences
Â
-
Biomax panels: Single-chip LEDs → each bulb = one wavelength. Can create “polka-dot effect” with less even coverage. Not ideal for full body light exposure.
-
Other panels: Dual-chip LEDs → each bulb outputs two wavelengths, doubling chip count (so 300 LEDs = 600 chips). Produces smoother, more even light spread.
Â
Features Breakdown
-
Smart Modes: Rouge Pro G4 + Rojo Refine 900 + Biomax Pro→ one-click presets changes wavelengths, power settings and timer to create different effects on the body.Â
-
Custom Modes: BlockBlueLight Mega 5.0 + Rojo Refine → can save your own settings.
-
Pulsing: Present in Biomax Pro Ultra, BlockBlueLight, Rouge Pro G4, Rojo Refine.
-
Mode Display: Biomax Pro Ultra lacks a clear mode indicator (frustrating in practice).
Â
Warranty & Returns
Â
-
BlockBlueLight Mega 5.0 → 5 yrs, 30-day returns, no restocking fee (industry-leading).
-
Rouge Pro G4 & Rojo Refine 900  → 3 yrs, 60-day returns, no restocking fee.
-
Biomax Ultra & 900 → 3 yrs, 60-day returns, 20% restocking fee. If there is a good chance you will return the panel, I recommend avoiding PlatinumLED.Â
Â
Power Reality Check
-
Beyond ~70–80 mW/cm², the extra power may not be necessary unless treating deeper tissues. In practice one could argue that the BioMax Pro is a very specialised product and for everyone.
-
And in in those cases where high power is needed, a smaller, cheaper, targeted device such as a handheld laser or Iron Forge device might be better than any panel.
Â
Closing Recommendations
-
Best for Maximum Intensity / Multi-Panel Setups: Biomax Pro Ultra
-
Best for Wavelength Diversity / Brain Health: Rouge Pro G4
-
Best Balance of Power, Features & Warranty: BlockBlueLight Mega 5.0
-
Best Value for Money: Rojo Refine 900Â
-
Older High-Power Alternative: Biomax 900
